The media relations staff for the Predators discuss Twitter with players during media training sessions before each season. The Titans stick to practical advice, reminding players that Twitter conversations are not private.
“We do give them guidelines in dstti terms of sort of thinking that they were doing a media interview,” said Robbie Bohren, director of media relations for the Titans. “Anything you wouldn’t say in a media setting, you probably shouldn’t say on Twitter because the people that are following you are not only fans, but media, so whatever you say is going to get picked up by the media.”
Titans cornerback Jason McCourty and his twin brother, Devin, a cornerback for the New England Patriots, have combined to form a popular Twitter account with nearly 20,000 followers. Jason said he still likes the interactive aspect Twitter provides for him and his peers.
“It gives fans an opportunity to get to know us a little bit,” he said.goodwatches “They watch us play football and kind of read about us a little bit.tagheuerreplicawatches But between Facebook and Twitter — posting videos and pictures and things like that — they kind of get a chance to see what it’s like underneath the helmet and behind the scenes.fluorescentwatches It’s kind of a cool thing.sexylingerie”
Titans linebacker Gerald McRath is a prolific tweeter as well. He recently used Twitter to advertise a local charity event he was promoting. McRath says he’s well aware that Twitter has its share of dangers.
“There’s a number of negative things, and you don’t want to end up being that person,iwcwatchesvendor” McRath said in reference to Mendenhall. “If there’s anything I can say about Twitter it’s just, ‘Watch what you put on there because it’s for the public.’
“I try to remember that I have little cousins and sisters and my mom and dad who are following me. So you don’t want to put anything up there that they wouldn’t want to read.”
