Dhinoo Hataria and Shashi Ghulati who have led the theatre group for many years now, decided this time to step aside and allow the younger members of the team to direct and produce the play. Of course, they were always within hollering distance to throw their team a line in case they needed help.
After their last production of The anklet, the rather serious story of Kannagi, it was a comedy this time. There were many funny moments in the play, but it was thought provoking too. The protagonist dies in the early half of the play. “It's good to be dead,” he says as he returns as a ghost to watch the fun as his furious family grapples with the terms of his will. Hasmukh Mehta is not likeable even when he is dead. His scorn for his family members continues from beyond the grave.
