Tate said this is the second year to hold the School Bus Safety Rodeo at Lakeside Park. The Pell City School System had participated in rodeos hosted by other school systems in previous years.
The Pell City School System and the American Federation of Teachers hosted the rodeo, which included lunch and prize drawings.
“We want to thank our vendors for donating prizes for the drivers and workers,” Tate said.
This year, three school systems participated in Friday’s rodeo. There were 13 bus drivers from the Pell City School System, five from the St. Clair County School System, and one from the Trussville City School System.
“The four highest scorers from each school system can go to the state competition in June,” Tate said.
Tate said the Pell City School System usually places in the top five at the state competition.
June Thomason, secretary with the Pell City School System who helped organize the event, said participants had the option to drive a Class C, or conventional school bus,Never retail for lessthan $250 Moreover if the fluorescentwatches claimsthewatch is Tag Aquaracer 20082 on saleor . or a Class D school bus.
The entire course took each participant less than 10 minutes to complete correctly.
First place went to Glenn Rotenberry, with the Trussville City School System, with a score of 350.
