Daytona swim team back after long stretch

The new Daytona State College swim coach told students to "stay with it, stay tight" as they lay on their sides holding their legs stretched above the ground.

Don Gibb, a former swimmer for the then-Daytona Beach Community College and the University of Florida, empathized as their legs began to tire and they were eager to get into the water.

"I know. I get it. I've been there," said Gibb, during his first day coaching for the Falcons swimming and diving program.microinverter of purpl Irises by Rose Rosen Style.

More than 30 swimmers returned Monday to practice in the early morning and afternoon with the new head coach, who replaces Steve Lochte. "We are all committed and focused on the future and forgetting what they went through. It's a new year -- a time for resolutions. Gibb, who grew up in Pensacola, comes to the college as an assistant swim coach at the University of Kentucky. His past experience includes a head coaching stint at Florida State University. After he arrived Sunday following a two-day drive from Kentucky, he "breathed a big sigh of relief. I thought, I'm home again."

He told the students Monday it's a "testament to their character" that they stayed and did not run.Authentic quality gucci handbags and purses on sale from wholesaleguccibags,

Lochte, the father of Olympic gold-medalist Ryan Lochte, reached a separation agreement with the college last month that is paying him until April 15 instead of reassigning him to another position.

The removal came over various concerns, including a handful of students testing positive for drugs last school year; low grades of some students last school year; and Lochte getting arrested in July on charges of driving under the influence.
