Charlotte's homeless and needy trod a fragile line through the snow Monday, as shelters filled up and nonprofits like Crisis Assistance Ministry and Friendship Trays closed for the day.
Forecasts of freezing this morning had some charities predicting problems would worsen before they got better.
Friendship Trays expected to cancel food deliveries today, too, adding to the isolation of Mecklenburg's homebound.
