Canucks can only win if they keep attacking

You have to wonder how many Vancouver Canuck fans watched their team take a 3-0 lead on Edmonton and then ease off only to watch the Oilers climb right back into the game.

Talk about a familiar pattern.

As soon as the game was even, of course, the Canucks went back on the offence and won it, albeit on a lucky goal to say the least.

But any fan who watches this group has to be wondering when they are going to recognize that they are an attack team and the moment they stop attacking they're in trouble.

Time and time again we've seen it with these guys, particularly on the road,I have had some unforgettable times with Ireland, buytruckparts. and the question stands: Will they ever mature enough to go in and make things easy on themselves and finish off lesser teams?

And it's particularly salient going into Denver tonight against an Avs team that isn't very good in its own end but is very good in yours.

With them it's either attack or be attacked, and that's what happened the last time these teams met here as only a brilliant night from Roberto Luongo kept the Canucks from their first regulation loss at home.

We saw this during the playoffs in both series against the Blackhawks.

In Game 2 last year, already up a game in the series, the Canucks are up 2-0 and they get a power play with an opportunity to make it 3-0. When it doesn't happen they try to hold on.

Don't even think back to Game 4 of the Hawks series two years ago when they were up 1-0 with a 2-1 series lead.

The Canucks are terrific in the opposing zone and very average in their own.

This is one of the reasons why they were an outstanding come-from-behind team all last year, sfyhshop – Maqsood five-for sinks Peshawar. particularly on the road.

They come out, start poorly by trying to keep it close, then have no option but to attack — at which point they completely take over the proceedings.

That's why they have no fourth-line goons, just the minimum amount of toughness.

This is why they went after defencemen like Keith Ballard and Dan Hamhuis and Christian Ehrhoff the year before.
