A terminally-ill grandfather who watched a thug walk free from court following a vicious attack is demanding justice after it emerged the prosecutor read out the defence case in court.
Ken Oliver, 62, was brutally assaulted at his front door by 19-year-old Reece Kent, who wrongly thought he was the father of a girl he knew.

Mr Oliver, from Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, has now received a letter from CPS Hertfordshire revealing prosecutor Geoffrey Porter accidentally read out the defendant’s version of events and failed to mention his lengthy stay in hospital while in a serious condition.
He complained yesterday the case made 'a mockery of our justice system' but said he had been told the sentence would not be altered.

Stricken Mr Oliver - who was filmed on a mobile phone during the assault - was found moments later his wife Pauline, 64, and his three-year-old granddaughter.
