She thinks her playpen is a trampoline!” says professional dogsitter Catherine Cobb as she watches Missy, a long-haired Chihuahua, bouncing up and down in her pen.

Cobb has boarded hundreds of dogs in her seven years as proprietor of Fido Fitness, a professional dog-walking and petsitting service in Calabasas. But Missy is a singular customer for a number of reasons.

Missy is a trained “seizure service dog,” and she’s staying with Cobb on a pro bono basis because her owner, Tiffany Karl, has run up against hard times. Karl has epilepsy, and Missy alerts her owner when she is about to have a grand mal seizure. Karl lies down to prevent injury, and Missy stays with her to calm her throughout the convulsion.

Karl and her husband both found themselves hospitalized and homeless recently, and couldn’t afford care for the service dog. Tiffany Karl was afraid of losing Missy.

“My life and emotions were in upheaval, and then Catherine stepped in and cared enough about us and our puppy to take care of her. There are not many people in the world that would do that,” said Tiffany Karl.

Catherine Cobb has taken Missy into her home for free for the last two weeks, until Tiffany Karl can get back on her feet. “If there’s something I can do to help someone in a time of need,” Cobb says, jerseys Watches sell at lowest prices. “I like to help. The Warriors, watches, who are four points adrift of second place with two games remaining.”

“When I’m caring for an animal I want to make sure it has the best chance at a healthy life,” Cobb says.

Cobb has fostered more than a half-dozen dogs in the last couple of years. The first was a “foreclosure dog” whose owners left it behind when they left their home.
